떠있는 예술작업이자 스테이지로 변환되는 파빌리온으로 설계되었다.

​

플랫폼엘은 다양하게 활용될 수 있는 공간이라는 플랫폼(PLATFORM)을 의미한다. 특히 플랫폼엘의 중정은 이런 의미를 더욱 강화시키는 외부장소로써 서울 강남이라는 도심안에서 마당과 같이 비워지고, 채워지는 소중한 곳이다. 건축공방이 제안하는 파빌리온 “STAGE L”은 이러한 중정 본연의 해석을 통해 이곳을 찾는 사람들이 주인공이 되고, 또 무대에 작업이 올려지기도 하는 공간을 상징적으로 표현한다.

디자인 전략은 스테이지엘이 건축적 예술작품이면서, 그 자체를 사용하는 기능을 가지고 있으며, 떠있는 구조적인 가벼움을 극대화하려고 한 것에 있다.

스테이지엘은 샹들리에를 모티브로 진행되었다. 프랑스어로 양초를 의미하는 샹들리에는 공간의 감각과 자체의 즐거움, 그리고 공간 스스로가 하나의 설치 작품이 되는 풍경을 만들어준다. 파빌리온은 중정공간에 온전하게 떠있는 형태로 만들어지는데 날씨의 변화와 중정의 활용에 따라 파빌리온의 파사드는 상하로 열리고 닫히는 공간을 제공한다. 수직외피는 커튼과 같은 패브릭 소재로 만들어져 그 자체의 주름진 모습이 색다른 풍경을 보여주고, 수평의 천정면은 빛이 들어오는 재료로 가볍고 경쾌하게 만들어진다. 파빌리온이 닫힌 형태일 때 사용될 2개의 출입동선은 문의 기능을 가지는 예술작업으로 자리한다. 역동적인 유선형의 작업은 전체 웨이브 형태를 더욱 강력하게 만들어주면서 내부공간의 포인트 요소로써 작동한다.

스테이지엘은 아름다움과 기능을 모두 만족시키면서 그 배경으로 섬세한 기술력과 건축적 실험을 제안하고 있다. 많은 사람들이 작품을 함께 감상하고 즐기며 동시에 흥미로운 일상의 한 부분이 되는 파빌리온 프로젝트이다.

Platform L means PLATFORM, a space that can be used in various ways. In particular, the courtyard of Platform L is an external place that reinforces this meaning, and is a precious place that is emptied and filled like a yard in the city center of Gangnam, Seoul. The pavilion “STAGE L” proposed by Architectural Studio symbolically expresses a space where people who visit this place become the main characters and works are also put on the stage through the original interpretation of the courtyard.

The design strategy is that StageL is an architectural work of art, has the function of using itself, and tries to maximize the floating structural lightness.

Stage L was conducted with a chandelier as a motif. The chandelier, which means candle in French, creates a sense of space, its own pleasure, and a landscape in which the space itself becomes an installation piece. The pavilion is made in the form of floating completely in the courtyard space, and the façade of the pavilion provides a space that opens and closes vertically according to the weather and the use of the courtyard. The vertical outer skin is made of a fabric material like a curtain, and its wrinkled appearance shows a different landscape, and the horizontal ceiling surface is made of a material that allows light to enter lightly and cheerfully. When the pavilion is in a closed form, the two entrance and exit lines are positioned as works of art that have the function of a door. The dynamic streamlined work works as a point element in the interior space, making the overall wave shape more powerful.

StageL satisfies both beauty and function while proposing delicate technology and architectural experimentation as its background. It is a pavilion project where many people can appreciate and enjoy the work together, and at the same time become an interesting part of daily life.​​
