‘너에게 학교란’으로 시작했던, 학생들과 함께 고민하고 나눴던 의견들을 품은 
건축가와 예술가의 작품이 학교에 찾아옵니다.

학교의 공간마다 민주적인 소통과 수평적인 쉼을 즐길 수 있도록,  
재료의 고유성과 따뜻함을 느낄 수 있도록, 수공으로 제작된 작품입니다.

작품은 우리나라의 전통 툇마루를 재해석하여, 서로 만나는 장소라는 의미를 
지니며, 형태적으로 단순하고 강합니다. 스틸공방에서 튼튼한 틀을 만들고, 
녹슬지 않는 철을 손으로 하나하나 표면처리를 하여 멋스러운 면을 만들었습니다. 나무공방에서 두꺼운 참나무와 호두나무 원판을 다듬어 나무로만 서로 끼워서 
맞추고, 그 위에 여러 차례 천연 오일을 먹였습니다. 
시간이 지나면서 가치가 높아지는 작품이 될 것입니다.    

앉다. 대화하다. 쉬다.
우리의 접근 방식은 학생들이 사회의 상호 존중과 나의 개성을 조화롭게 가꾸어 나갈 수 있도록 고민하는 것이었습니다. 
더 나아가 문화예술과 건축에서 민주주의라는 아이디어를 어떻게 구현할 수 있을까 하는 생각이기도 합니다. 
공간의 표현이 표준화 되는 것이 아니라, 각자의 상황과 이를 배워나가는 특별한 과정을 담을 수 있는 것이 된다면 좋겠습니다. 
문화예술의 힘은 생각에서 나옵니다. 
질문하고, 고민하고, 시도해보는 일련의 과정에서 만들어진 작은 파장이 작품과 함께 하기를 바랍니다. 
이 작품을 통해 작은 변화가 만들어 낼 유연하지만 기본적인 일상이 학교의 풍경이 되기를 기대합니다.

학교는 미래에게 남겨줄 보이는 혹은 보이지 않는 유산이 될 것이기 때문입니다.

A work created by an architect and an artist, reflecting the ideas and thoughts that were shared with students starting from the question,

"What does school mean to you?" is coming to the school.

This handcrafted piece is designed to foster democratic communication and horizontal rest in every space of the school while allowing you to feel the unique qualities and warmth of the materials.

The work reinterprets the traditional Korean *toenmaru* (an elevated wooden porch), symbolizing a meeting place. It is simple yet strong in form. A sturdy frame was made in a metal workshop, and each surface of the rust-resistant iron was hand-finished to create a stylish appearance.

In a wood workshop, thick oak and walnut planks were refined, joined together using only wood, and multiple layers of natural oil were applied. This piece will increase in value over time.

Sit. Converse. Rest.
Our approach was to contemplate how students can cultivate mutual respect in society while harmonizing with their own individuality. We also considered how the idea of democracy could be realized in culture, art, and architecture.

We hope that the expression of space does not become standardized but instead captures the unique learning process of each situation. The power of culture and art comes from thought. We hope that the small ripples created through the process of questioning, contemplating, and trying will accompany this work. 

Through this work, we hope that the flexible yet fundamental aspects of everyday life created by these small changes will become part of the school landscape.

Because school will become a visible or invisible legacy left for the future.
