기존 도시조직의 조각으로 시작하다. 건물의 네모난 형태와 일정한 직교 격자는 도시 발전의 시발점이었던 태평동 일대의 도시적 구조를 상징적으로 나타낸다. 설계는 공원의 고유한 프로그램의 특성을 표현하면서 공원에 매력적이고 의미 있는 공간이 될 박물관을 어떻게 만들 수 있을까라는 질문에서 시작되었다.
1. 공공 시설로서 건물의 레이아웃은 전체 커뮤니티가 모이는 장소가 될 중요한 공공 공간을 제공한다.
2. 도시의 복잡한 역사를 조명하고 방문자가 도시의 미래를 성찰하도록 초대하는 문화 시설로서 건축물 자체는 도시 진화의 여러 단계를 프레임화 하는 창과 같이 생각을 전달한다.​

Starting as a piece of existing urban organization. The square shape of the building and a certain orthogonal grid symbolically represent the urban structure of the Taepyeong-dong area, which was the starting point of urban development. The design began with the question of how to create a museum that would be an attractive and meaningful space for the park while expressing the characteristics of the park's unique program.
1. As a public facility, the building's layout provides important public spaces that will serve as gathering places for the entire community.
2. As a cultural facility that illuminates the city's complex history and invites visitors to reflect on the city's future, the building itself conveys thought, like a window framing the different stages of the city's evolution.​​​
